Allow Me To Drool A Moment

Over the Calypso Skirt over at ModCloth. It is absolutely gorgeous and I could totally rock it with this pair of Victorian style boots I have. A petticoat and over-skirt combo that can be worn separately. Don't forget the touch of corsetry!

Here are the pictures.

Isn't it lovely?

I'm in lurve with it. It is priced at $54.99 and sadly, currently out of stock. I can't wait to get mine in a small.

Update 12/12 - Back in stock. Sah-weet!

And, I Make My Return

First off, I am in love with California. I had a great week there and being with T made it that much better.

So, here goes the run down:

My first flight was interesting. I only had one moment where my acrophobia kicked in. We were starting our descent into LAX and I had my eyes glued to the football game, so the sudden view of the plane tilting in my periphery startled me a bit. It was all good though. I made it through both airports just fine. After a few minutes of waiting, T found me and I was jumping up and down like a crazy person. It's ok, he still loves me. :D

So, we made the drive to Lompoc that night and got settled in to just chill for the night. The next day, he took me to meet Papa and Mama Bennett. I love these two people. They were so nice to me even though I was feeling awkey. We went to do some furniture shopping (and snagged a complete bedroom set at a steal of a price!), then went to dinner with Ma and Pa.

T took me to the base beach my second day there. It was cold but so pretty and we were the only ones there. Want to see? Well, here you go!

We spent some time just hanging around, shopping for kitchen things so I could cook, and enjoying each other's company. I sorely miss being able to just hang out with him doing nothing or playing video games. Thanksgiving day was spent with the majority of his shop eating, drinking, and being merry.

And, don't forget the Rockband!

Lots and lots of Rockband.

My next to last day there, we took a trip down to the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. Because, I'm a nerd like that.

For my last bit of time left, we went bowling. He is a much better bowler than I. At least I didn't drop the ball.

I enjoyed my trip very much and there are many more pictures that I love. Enjoyed the time with T even more and can't wait to move out there. I miss him very much. Hopefully, it won't be too long before I get to see T again.

Oh Hai

It's been a while. Sorry, life likes to kick my ass sometimes. So, here's the update.

My brother's birthday was this month. I decided to make him his favorite pie since I had to work all that day. Peanut butter pie. It's delicious. Really. I'll post the recipe later.

I had to work all that day for the Athens Augustana show. It was a good show but I couldn't stop laughing that one of the band members has a smaller ass than I do.

As for school, it's kicking my ass. Between woody ID and Chemistry, I've been busy. I'm also planning on participating the the PLANET competition in the spring.

PLANET is a competition for Horticulture and Landscape Design students held every year with events in plant ID, equipment, design, construction, and other things geared toward the market. It can also come with great connections for the future.

I posted a bit back about the Hort Club trip to Charleston. For the spring they're going to San Diego. I don't think I'll be able to go though. I'll be taking 17 hours of classes and working full-time in the spring. The extra hours are so that I can graduate December of next year like I had planned on. Graduating when I want is more important than the trip to me though. I'm ready to get out to California.

Speaking of California, my flight out there is coming up fast. I'm so excited. Even more excited that T's Sgt asked that I make T-day dinner for the three of us since his wife will be gone. It sucks that she won't be able to be there with her husband for the holiday, but I'm excited none the less.

Today's plan had been to go spelunking with a friend but everyone else bailed on him so no luck today. The trip got postponed till after finals. Yay! I still get to go do this.

I think that's all I've got. Till next time...

peace out.

Oh the Lust

Laser hair removal at home. I want it. Having sensitive skin does not play well with razors. Enter the TRIA Laser Hair Removal System found at triabeauty.com. Sweepstakes has been entered and eBay has been stalked for one. I want!

Thanks Ashley for the tip.

This is Halloween, This is Halloween

Mmmm Halloween. One of my favorite days of the year and because I'm a lazy ass I'm not dressing up this year. I have also yet to carve my pumpkins. Maybe, I should get on that, but first to staisfy my Wa-Ho craving.

Ze Dress is Beautiful

It is absolutely perfect actually. I don't even need to make a train for it. I love it. It was a rather interesting wedding dress shopping experience. I was browsing a designer's website that a friend tipped me off to and the picture made my jaw drop. So, I went on a hunt for it and finally found one in Dalton, GA @ Eva Mae Formals. If you're shopping for formalwear and you're in that area, go to them!! They were so helpful and nice to me. It turned out that the only dress that had in the style I wanted was the color I wanted, my size, and they shipped it to me, all for a total of $200. Amazing deal, amazing shop to work with.

So, the make my own train idea is out, gone, not being thought about anymore. Woo-hoo! I already have my something old as well to go along with that tradition. It's the necklace I wore when T and I went to his prom almost 6 years ago. I already have an idea about shoes, hair, and makeup.

I'm excited and happy about all of this. But, most of all I'm happy that I will be spending my life with the one I love.

I'm In Love

The trip to South Carolina was ah-may-zing. Really, I'm in love with Charleston now. So, here's the quickie breakdown of the trip.

Day 1

- Riverbanks Zoo & Garden

- Charleston

Day 2

- Alejandro's Garden

- Demetre Park

- Private Garden 2

- Middleton Place

I had a blast and took many more pictures than I posted. I plan on going back someday.

In other news, my wedding dress came in the mail today!!! I have yet to open the box because I promised my MOH (maid of honor) that I would wait to open it till she could be here too since we didn't do the whole in store wedding dress shopping. I hope she calls soon. This box is staring at me. It wants me to open it.

And finally, I have decided on how I want to carve my pumpkin. I'm going to do a wraparound scene of Rivendell. This is going to be tricky but fun.

I hope you all had as good a weekend as I did.

Charleston

Yes, Hocus Pocus. That was our movie tonight. The theater nearly got to half capacity, which is generally not seen unless we're doing a sneak peek. Good choice University Union, good choice.

Dress update: the shop couldn't find a train for my dress. So, I got the dress anyways and am going to make the train. This is going to be fun and the dress will be something that no one else has.

On the workout front, I still haven't had a chance to get out and go do a workout. Likely won't be able to till next week. Definitely going to get at least one workout in next week.

I guess that's it for the day. Off to do some studying and hit the sack.

Houston, We Have a Problem

So, there's been a slight hiccup with my wedding gown. The shop I've been dealing with didn't realize when I bought it to be shipped that it does not have the detachable train with it. As soon as they realized this, they called me and apologized, as well as offered to refund my money immediately. I asked them if they could hold off on that and see if they could track down a train for me. If they can't, I've contacted someone on etsy.com to see if they could make the train for me.

Hopefully, this will all workout for me in the end. 'Cause I really want that dress.

Goals

I posted the other day that I got my wedding dress. The thing about that dress is that I'm an inch too big in the waist for it. No big deal really. I have over a year to lose that inch, but I've wanted to start working out regularly for a while now. I get a good bit of walking done everyday running back and forth from classes and work. But at this point, I want to do more. Having free access to a full gym a five minute walk from my house helps, too.

To start out, I'll just do regular old situps, pushups, and running/jogging. These I can do at home and across the street at the trails that are there. Now I just have to find the time.

Achievement Unlocked

Yes, I got it. The dress I love, in the color I want, that is my size. Dress + tax + shipping = a grand total of $200. This one was fate.

On a side note, I may have found a photographer as well, but this will have to be discussed with T. It's a friend of mine who does great work, and I would love to be able to help a friend build his portfolio some more. He even said that he would travel. Well, I can tell you, the location area that I'm thinking of is Ah-mazing to visit. I think this is a good start even though we haven't set a date yet other than sometime after I graduate in December of next year.

Entertainment Hidden in Class Notes

Just a few gems from my Woody ID class notes.

Boston Ivy - The Ivy of the Ivy League

To get a Lady Bank's Rose to bloom you have to threaten it, make it angry.

Oaks are promiscuous.

Water oaks are EVIL.

Ok, back to studying. Three tests in three days. Yeah, it's midterm week.

Back to blogging.

I had one ages ago but didn't keep up with it. Now, I think I'm ready to have another go at it.

Just a little introduction. I'm a student majoring in Horticulture at the University of Georgia and the fiancee of an Airman. While I'm here in Athens, he is stationed in California and I hope to finish school by December of next year and join him out there. I am so very excited that I will be spending my life with the person I fell in love with way back in 7th grade. It's going to be an amazing journey and I can't wait to start it.

Now on to the purpose for this blog. It is to get my thoughts out there, wedding ideas, vents and frustrations, and the joys in my life. Time to start that journey!
